The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic has minted a series of six coins

with values ranging from 20 to 3000 pesos.

MARK THE XIth SOCCER WORLD CUP 1978

Every 4 years the soccer world cup is played. Argentina will be host this year (1978). More than 100 countries will be competing for the world soccer prize which is one of the most challenging sports awards. This is the first time in soccer world cup history that the host country authorized the minting of legal currency coins to mark the event. The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic has minted a series of six coins with values ranging from 20 to 3000 pesos. This binder contains the smaller values, that is, 20, 50 and 100 peso coins, issued in 1977 and 1978, in a copper - aluminum - nickel alloy. In the field of numismatics these coins are the first of their kind and they will be appraised as a unique piece for collectors and soccer fans worldwide.
